Demonstrate knowledge of database modeling through the analysis of a restaurant in NYC.
This project’s objective was to research data on an NYC restaurant in order to provide recommendations from a marketing perspective. To create an Entity Relationship Diagram, Sentiment Analysis, and Data Visualization Chart.
Focusing on the Nomad location of the Italian NYC chain, La Pecora Bianca, we compiled and organized Yelp reviews by sentiment. I developed our ERD model beginning with the restaurant itself, branching out to each of their locations as a 1 to 1 relationship. From there, the Nomad location connects to the customer, with ID as the key indicator. This entity includes all information a restaurant would want to know about a customer, including Yelp reviews.
Our recommendations for the restaurant included categories: ambience, food, service, and training. From a marketing perspective, to market outdoor seating and offer seasonal menus-both of which are campaign opportunities.
