Using inspiration from an art piece, develop a product that connects to the emotions evoked.

The project required a visit to a museum, where we were tasked to find an art piece that we felt emotionally connected to. Based on our feelings and current trends, we were to devise a new product to market.

‘Seasons of Life,’ a card game for individuals with self-reflective questions and sustainably focused activities, was inspired by Edouard Vuillard’s painting ‘Garden at Vaucresson.’ I was struck by the memories of my own summers in the Hamptons houses my family has rented my whole life, which made me feel serene, hopeful, and nostalgic.

The idea of patience and growth as well as the simplicity of life kept returning to my mind, which allowed me to connect with trends including wellness, personalization, and sustainability. ‘Seasons of Life’ offers cards dedicated to each season, complete with a question that connects to the season specifically as well as an activity that allows the person to help the environment.
